The Big Park

Situated near the Spar this park is the biggest park in Laurencekirk*. It may have an official name but when I was growing up me and my friends only knew it as the big park.

There is a football pitch with goal posts, a tennis court which has basketball hoops, swings, round-a-bout and a see-saw.

Not sure what it is like these days but years ago mid to late teens would loiter around this park doing god knows what.

Kinnear Square

This park is at the other end of Laurencekirk, near The Western Inn. The main attraction is a structure known as The Witches Hat, so-called because it looks like its namesake.

The park is big enough to play football and other sports but there are no goal posts.

There is some swings, round-a-bout and a boat with a slide on it for children.
